Forest bathing / bosbaden in de Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen
Omschrijving
One of the practices that has helped me tremendously in finding more peace and relaxation in my life is Forest Bathing. It has not only brought me more calmness and clarity, but it has also allowed me to truly hear my own voice again and follow my heart.
What is Forest Bathing?
Forest Bathing, also known as Shinrin-Yoku (a term originating from Japan), is a practice where you immerse yourself in nature and mindfully spend time in it. It’s not about hiking or exercising, but about experiencing nature with all your senses. The goal is to relax, reduce stress, and cultivate a deeper connection with yourself and the natural world. It’s a magical feeling.
The Benefits of Forest Bathing
Research shows that Forest Bathing offers numerous physical and mental health benefits:
– Stress reduction: It lowers cortisol (the stress hormone) levels in your body.
– Improved focus: Time spent in nature enhances concentration and mental clarity.
– Boosts your immune system: Trees release substances (phytoncides) that strengthen your immune system.
– Greater relaxation: It helps reduce blood pressure and heart rate.
– Elevated mood: It fosters feelings of joy and helps reduce anxiety and symptoms of depression
The event can be hosted in Dutch and English.
I’d love to meet you and take you into nature.
